Primary Director:
Laura Morris received her Association Montessori Internationale (AMI)
diploma from the Montessori Institute of Atlanta in 1991. In her 16 years as
director of an AMI classroom, Laura has guided the development of over 200
children. She developed a full day Montessori program for primary age
children, the first of it’s type in the Atlanta area. Laura has presented on
this and other topics at Montessori conferences nationally and
internationally, for AMI, North American Montessori Teacher’s Association (NAMTA)
and Canadian Association of Montessori teachers (CAMT). She is published in
numerous professional journals, newsletters and instruction manuals for the
Montessori community.Over 90 percent of Laura’s graduates enter first grade as competent readers. It is common for 4 and 5 year in her classroom to choose work in mathematics that include addition and subtraction with numbers in the thousands.
Connection to the community is important to Laura, as well. She is currently serving as Education Committee Chairperson for the Crossroads Business Association. She also serves on the Education Advisory Committee for North Metro Technical College.
