Our Mission: To foster the children of our community to reach their full potential as intelligent, creative, thoughtful and capable individuals.

Our Vision: To set each child on a course of lifelong learning… by learning how to learn.

Our Commitment: To provide the very best in early childhood education. We also provide the peace of mind that your children are receiving the finest and most loving care available outside their immediate families.

Hopewell Montessori School was founded by a group of dedicated individuals, intent on creating a special place for children to learn. To this end, we have created a beautiful, stimulating environment where children can go about their task of self construction. Nestled on 2 wooded acres, our indoor classrooms have the feel of a mountain lodge. We have provided a place lovingly and intentionally prepare with Montessori materials designed to meet the “hands-on” learning needs of the child. Our outdoor classroom space is thoughtfully designed to create safe places for a child’s exploration of nature, science and the world around them. Children harvest vegetables and explore soft lamb’s ear, fragrant lavender and colorful Zinnias in our children’s gardens. Designed to take advantage of a child’s natural curiosity, the carefully prepared environment at Hopewell supports development of academic, social and physical skills.

Classes are comprised of children 2 ˝ to 6 years old. With mixed age groups in the same class, younger children benefit from having older children to follow, and older children learn leadership and compassion from their interaction with younger children. Individualized instruction and small group lessons, provided by an AMI-certified educator, ensure that each child advances at his or her natural pace. This community of independent yet harmonious activity is achieved through a unique combination of freedom and structure.

We understand that the drive to learn is present in all children. Our role is to guide, support and provide individualized instruction that meets the unique needs of each child. Dr. Montessori admonished us to “have the faith to follow the child.” Hopewell’s faculty and staff are life-long learners, have an enduring sense of humor, and hold a profound respect for all children.
